I have personal experience for the program that Ana referred to. It's tedious and challenging process to complete requiring various documents, communications with organizations to provide proof. My hope and expectation that the WET program is easier.
SLC Mary Gloner
01:07:44
Plus the other program competing for funds with other professionals and sectors.
SLC Mary Gloner

Tailoring WET for behavioral health providers and making process easy, ensures pipeline into county and cbo partners

I will have training to high school students soon. If I know more about the stipends, I can also promote to high schoolers too.
Elisa Koff-Ginsborg
01:15:19
Regarding outreach to high schools/colleges, I'd like to coordinate so that Community providers can participate in this effort.
SLC Anthony Miner
01:16:02
I'm in favor of this loan forgiveness proposal; 1. there is a high rejection of federal loan forgiveness applications (something like 95% I believe). 2. This proposal will promote growth in the MH sector. 3. We might want to brainstorm and how to utilize funds in other ways to recruit talented professionals at different training/education levels (I've been fortunate enough to assist with our annual Career Summer Institute to promote interest in MH careers for high school students, for example, which I think is great!)
Jennifer Jones
01:16:13
What about Peer Specialists re: Workforce & Development because they are going to be certified? Is WET going to help with the Peer Specialists in our county?
SLC LouMeshia Brown
01:16:48
I suggest adding a language stipend for the threshold languages we need in our programs.
SLC Anthony Miner
01:18:19
One question I have is if we can raise the hourly pay for WET stipended trainees. I believe it is at $13.85 per hour, which is below minimum wage; could we potentially raise this rate to at least minimum wage?
SLC LouMeshia Brown
01:19:03
High school and Community Colleges are great places to recruit for BH roles.
SLC Anthony Miner
01:19:29
I agree with LouMeshia
SLC LouMeshia Brown

Please also intentionally outreach across all school districts including charter and private schools. Let’s cast a wide net.
SLC Wesley Mukoyama
01:21:57
I have a question for an idea. Can I use Innovation, WET and Capitol funds? How much do you project
SLC LouMeshia Brown
01:23:13
There are college fairs throughout the Bay Area we can build relationships in which we can recruit from.
SLC Wesley Mukoyama
01:23:29
How much do you project as companies do, will remain in unspent funds $100 million next year?
Jennifer Jones
01:23:55
I support loan repayment, I have seen that it has helped with staff retention because of this incentive offered
SLC Leah Hodge
01:25:37
I have to go on to another meeting. Take care everyone
