was that two documents attached to calendar invite?
Evelyn Tirumalai (She/Her)
46:44
The two documents were: 2020 RER and the Children Youth and Families program packet. These materials and today's presentation will be available in the MHSA website shortly after today's meeting.
Elena Tindall
47:29
Do we anticipate the magnitude on MHSA funding having so many tech companies moving out of CA? As our MHSA is the "millionaires tax"? AS more millionaires move out, that should have a direct impact on this funding stream
Ican Zoomwebinar

Dear hosts & cohosts: we We have some community members here today to voice their concerns, but it looks like you will not have time for public comments? the last slide said that they should give feedback by filling out post surveys, is that correct?

I agree there is very little support for children and families within the Autism, ADHD, ASD, IDD...
SLC Ana Gabriela
01:04:39
These populations also live with MH and/or Dual Diagnosis which is a much more complicated scenario for providers, families, and caregivers in general.
Brandon Tran
01:06:39
Yes, your are right, Ana.

I’m a parent that join ICAN classes as well. Before I joined the classes, I was nervous about raising my child. Luckily, I found ICAN and learned so much knowledge to help myself and my child to growth. I would love to attend more classes with ICAN to help me and my child in US.
SLC Mary Gloner-she/her/hers

Thanks Quyen for mobilizing the community members to share their stories. These stories humanize the value of CBO based mental health services.
Ican Zoomwebinar
01:11:08
thank you all for your patience. We appreciate having a chance for the community members to speak up. It is a great opportunity and took a lot of courage for them to speak up, and I trust that you found their comments insightful
SLC Ana Gabriela
01:11:59
Because the executive functioning of the Autism, IDD population is generally negatively impacted by the conditions themselves, they also experience higher rate of suicide ideation and utilization of EMS, EPS, and other emergency services.
Ican Zoomwebinar
01:15:42
sorry I was not able to let all parents from ICAN speak. A huge THANK YOU to you all for coming and speaking up. You are welcome to stay to continue to attend the meeting if you want

Is the Santa Clara County SUTS program still a 30 day residential?
Brandon Tran
01:16:48
I think ADHD has a lot of problems that affect their life too. So parents and their children get stressed and depressed also. My case is an example. Therefore, we need more support and help. Ican is a good organization that can help for us.
Kakoli.Banerjee
01:19:09
It is possible to extend residential for youth for 30 days.
Cybele
01:20:25
It would also be helpful to have a list of staff names along with their associated program
SLC Ana Gabriela
01:22:22
Yes, Brandon ADHD too which is part of the Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, IDD.
Elena Tindall
01:23:52
Given the pandemic, am I understanding correctly that SLS focused only on supporting educators and parents, and were not helping students? If they were still helping students, how did the pandemic cause referrals to be modified?
Elena Tindall
01:27:52
did the SLS program see a drop in number of kids being helped? I imagine it's been more difficult with remote schooling.
Zelia Faria Costa
01:28:00
Our Substance Use Prevention Program has a program which trains students as peers to provide support around substance use.
Brandon Tran
01:28:12
Those services are the equally applied for public traditional schools and Charter schools also?
Elena Tindall
01:28:52
Glad to hear the pivot to addressing basic needs. Thank you for the explanation

01:38:03
when treating transition age youth with psychotropic medications, is there a focused effort to taper them off those meds, post crisis
Brandon Tran
01:40:47
Do we need to have a medical to qualify the services? I call for help one time, they said they just help for people who have a medical only.
SLC Mary Gloner-she/her/hers
01:42:53
Appreciate the in-depth presentation
SLC Ana Gabriela
01:43:49
Brandon, most of these services are for MediCal recipients which leaves some people without access for these services.

This breakdown super helpful. It shows about 50% funded by MHSA (please add % in future charts). So CBOs are going to be substantially impacted as MHSA funds go down
SLC Mary Gloner-she/her/hers
01:52:45
Ooops. not 50%
SLC Mary Gloner-she/her/hers
01:53:08

01:53:19
Where do the Subaccount Funds come from?
SLC Mary Gloner-she/her/hers
01:54:38
The projects that are heavier leveraged by MHSA would be where I want to prioritize on developing a sustainability strategy

When there is a crisis that the CMT goes out to intervene on, if a hospitalization is required is there any money to purchase a van for the CMT program?
Cybele
02:03:18
or does law enforcement/police take the person to the hospital?
SLC Mary Gloner-she/her/hers
02:03:32
Interesting that cost/slot varies from CBO to CBO.
SLC Ana Gabriela
02:06:06
Agencies typically struggle with retention of clients. Thus, it is no surprise this happens even more during pandemic times.
